Eizor Moshava
We are the DC/Baltimore chapter of the Labor-Zionist youth movement Habonim Dror North America. We provide programming for area youth to create a connection with Israel and Jewish culture and to build a community dedicated to social justice in Israel and the Diaspora. Our community is also served by Camp Moshava, an affiliated Habonim Dror camp modeled on the spirit of kibbutz, which runs for 8 weeks every summer in Bel Air, Maryland.

MOSH MADNESS!
Last Sunday we gathered together at the Leland Community Center for an afternoon of fun Purim festivities. Campers from every age group and their parents celebrate by playing classic Purim games, baking hamentashen, enjoying a Purim carnival and strutting their stuff in a costume parade. Thank you to everybody who came out! We hope all the new folks enjoyed the taste of Mosh.

Some Food for Thought:
Read this article about calling off the Labor Strikes in Israel and think about these questions.
What would happen if our communities if the entire public sector went on strike?
Is striking an effective method of achieving change in a society?
What are the pros and cons of what is happening in Israel?
If you have any questions feel free to contact us! We hope to see you at our events!

Shabbat Dinners by Shicvat
This past Friday we gathered at houses around Maryland for a little taste of camp. We had Shabbat dinner and every shicvat (age group) had a different activity run for them. It was nice to reconnect after so long without any events! We really appreciate all the families who offered their houses for our meals. Hope to see you at our next event...MOSH MADNESS! We will be sending out more details shortly.

Anaf Hanafa
This Sunday, Anaf Hanafa, the Mosh Ken's new service-learning group, had an exciting MLK kick-off event! Chanichim in grades 8-11 critically examined Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and discussed their roles in the continuing struggle for civil rights and racial and socio-economic equality in the United States. Afterward, they assembled about 100 servings of baked ziti for Martha's Table--a non-profit organization in D.C. that provides hundreds of homeless and low-income people with meals every day. Some of them also chose to participate in a letter writing campaign through Amnesty International asking the Governor of Missouri to pardon Reggie Clemens, a prisoner on death row, as a way to fight against injustice in the criminal justice system.
Mark your calendars for our next event coming the first week of February-- more details to follow soon!
